Today’s children will be facing a century of changing climate

There have been a couple of new listings to have come on the market here at the Ranch. The undivided 1/3 interest on Parcel 115 is back on the market. Located near the entrance gate and close to the beach, this is a great getaway from the wild world out there. For short stays in an environment from another time, the partnership interest in a cabin on Parcel 22 is hard to beat. Located on De La Cresta road on top of the mountains of Hollister Ranch, this is probably the most spiritual location at Hollister Ranch… and that’s saying a lot.

An undivided 1/6 interest in a Hollister Ranch parcel is soon to come on the market. A 1/6 interest allows for two family members to be designated as Hollister Ranch owners. This arrangement is often very advantageous for a husband/wife team, or a parent/child condition, when one of the two may want to come to the Ranch without the other. It is certainly much less than the $1,000,000, or more that two 1/12s would cost for the same ability.

Today’s children will be facing a century of changing climate, political upheaval and a rapidly changing job market. Those with an education allowing them to navigate the myriad challenges ahead will be best prepared to enjoy and prosper as we who grew up and came of age in the recent past. Getting off on the right foot in elementary school prepares the next generation with the tools to succeed in an ever increasingly challenging environment.

The students at De Las Cruces School (just outside Hollister Ranch) are very fortunate to have that opportunity. The ratio of students per teacher is 12:1 (with a state average of 22:1). All of the teachers are certified and all have more than 3 years of experience. Hollister Ranch residents feel very privileged to have such a great elementary school right next door. Success in life is enhanced with a quality education.

Last weekend was sunny and this week it has been mild and overcast. That is most welcome since typically, this is the time of the year is when we have the warmest days of the year. Labor Day weekend was cool and overcast warming the last half of Monday followed by another few days in the 80s. However, overall, the summer has been relatively cool.

The surfers have finally had their day in the sun. The sloppy south swell over the holiday finally cleaned up and continued with great conditions and minimal crowds.  Since then, there has been a fairly consistent south swell subject to off & on fickle conditions. All of the wave-hungry are looking forward to the anticipated west swells and fall conditions of autumn.
